As much as I love the coming of springtime, I am learning to loathe it as well.
At a home with mature trees, springtime (as well as fall) means "tree litter".
I never realized how much crap will come off of a tree. In addition to the usual (and expected)leaves that come down every fall, there is also the seeds and seed pods that come out and drop off in spring. And then there is the year-round dropping of twigs and the occasional branch.
For the last 2 weeks, I have been cleaning up the litter dropped by the elms and the sweet gum. Especially the sweet gum, which drops these broccolli-like "florets" for 2 or more weeks.
